The Legend of TYPE-80 Ver.1
Launched for the first-generation ZN6/ZC6, TYPE-80 Ver.1 became a legendary model with over 10,000 units sold worldwide.

Challenges with GR86 / New BRZ (FA24)

While Ver.1 is compatible with GR86/ZD8, some issues arose
• The bumper clearance was not optimized.
• The protrusion length varied by vehicle.
• The silencer diameter risked interference with other parts.
Thus, it wasn’t a perfect fit.

The Development of Ver.3
To address these requests, RSE designed the Ver.3, optimizing it specifically for the FA24 engine, ensuring perfect fitment and performance.

2. Development Philosophy: “The Art of Single”
RSE’s exhaust design philosophy is driven by a consistent goal: seeking the most rational solution based on the layout.
Within this philosophy, the single exhaust layout is a solution that embodies the following ideals:
- Maximized exhaust efficiency with the shortest, most direct, and lightest layout.
- Elimination of unnecessary bends, creating a racing-like flow.
- Lightness and responsiveness from using 1.0mm titanium.
- Simple yet striking aesthetics, focusing on minimalism.
- Achieving both performance and beauty through refined design.
This philosophy is encapsulated in the phrase:
“The Art of Single.”
However, this does not imply that single layouts are superior to dual exits. RSE designs both single and dual exhausts to best suit each vehicle’s characteristics, intended driving feel, and usage.
A single layout has its unique philosophy, while a dual system has its own optimal performance tuning. TYPE-80 series, in this case, represents a beautiful solution when pushing the limits of a single exhaust design.

The smaller silencer increases sound volume slightly.
